Scroll to the top of a long web page or email – iPhone

February 2, 2010 Leave a comment

Tap the status bar at the top near the clock to scroll to the top of a long web page or email. This way you can quickly get back to the top.

However, there’s no corresponding way to scroll to the bottom, that we know of.

Quick Launch Toolbar on Windows 7

January 29, 2010 Leave a comment

The Quick Launch toolbar is disabled by default in Windows 7 and is also missing from the list of toolbars. This is because the concept of having a set of pinned shortcut icons is now integrated directly into the new taskbar. To re-enable the old Quick Launch toolbar, do the following:

  • Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars / New Toolbar
  • In the folder selection dialog, enter the following string and hit OK:
    %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
  • Turn off the “lock the taskbar” setting, and right-click on the divider. Make sure that “Show text” and “Show title” are disabled and the view is set to “small icons”.
  • Use the dividers to rearrange the toolbar ordering to choice, and then lock the taskbar again.

.edu .org .net shortcuts on the iPhone

January 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Have you ever wondered:

  • Is there an easier way of entering url extensions on the iPhone?
  • Why does .com alone have a dedicated key on the iPhone’s keypad?
  • How do I surf .net, .edu, or .org websites with equal ease?

Just hold down the “.com” key for “.net”, “.edu”,and “.org” keys to be displayed. Then just slide your finger from .com to .net .edu or .org, rather than lifting and pressing.

Please let us know what iPhone OS version you are using and whether this works on your iPhone. Leave a comment.
