iPhone browsing – Open links in a new Safari page

January 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Have you ever wished for the ability to open links in a new page. One could always open multiple web pages in Safari on iPhone. However, there was no way to open a link in a new page. This neat little feature was added in iPhone 3.0.

To make it work, simply tap and hold a link to bring up a dialogue which allows you to open the link in a new page.

This is a perfect little feature to help you while you are googling across numerous sites.

.edu .org .net shortcuts on the iPhone

Have you ever wondered:

  • Is there an easier way of entering url extensions on the iPhone?
  • Why does .com alone have a dedicated key on the iPhone’s keypad?
  • How do I surf .net, .edu, or .org websites with equal ease?

Just hold down the “.com” key for “.net”, “.edu”,and “.org” keys to be displayed. Then just slide your finger from .com to .net .edu or .org, rather than lifting and pressing.

Please let us know what iPhone OS version you are using and whether this works on your iPhone. Leave a comment.
